Privacy policy

Short version: I collect what a bookstore needs to sell you books and send you email you asked for. I don't sell your information to anyone, ever.

What I collect and why

  • Order information (name, email, shipping address, purchase details): collected by Shopify at checkout to process payment, deliver your books, and handle support. Payment card details go directly to Shopify's payment processors — I never see or store your card number.
  • Email address for the newsletter: only if you sign up (through the site, a popup, or a free-book offer). Newsletters are sent through Klaviyo. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, it works instantly, and there are no hard feelings.
  • Ebook delivery data: BookFunnel uses your email to deliver your files and records delivery/download status so we can help if something goes wrong.
  • Site and advertising data: like most stores, this site uses cookies and analytics (Shopify analytics, and advertising pixels such as Meta's) to understand traffic and show relevant ads to people who've visited. You can limit this through your browser's cookie settings and your ad platform preferences.

Who it's shared with

Only the services that make the store run: Shopify (checkout and hosting), Klaviyo (email), BookFunnel (ebook delivery), my print partner (name and address, so your books reach you), and payment processors. Each handles your data under its own privacy policy. Nobody gets your information for their own marketing, and nobody buys it, because it is not for sale.

Your choices and rights

  • Unsubscribe from emails anytime via the link in any message.
  • Want to see, correct, or delete the personal information I hold? Email jon@jdcoker.com and I'll take care of it. If you're in a region with formal privacy rights (GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA and friends), those rights are honored here — access, correction, deletion, portability, the lot.
  • This store isn't directed at children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If my practices change, this page changes, along with the date at the top.
