Refund policy
Last updated: July 2026
First, the human version: I'm Jon. I write these books, I run this store, and I want you happy with what you buy here. If anything goes wrong with your order, email me at jon@jdcoker.com before anything else — most problems take one reply to fix.
Below are the official rules that apply if we ever need them. By purchasing from this store, you agree to them.
Talk to me before your bank
If something's wrong, it might be tempting to dispute the charge with your card company. Please email me first. This store is one author, not a corporation with a claims department. I answer my own email, and I'll make it right if the problem is on my end.
The 30-day window
All refund, return, or replacement requests must reach me by email within 30 days of your purchase date. The date you send the email is what counts, not the date I reply. Requests outside 30 days can't be honored.
Ebooks and digital products
Ebooks are delivered instantly by BookFunnel, so:
- Once a digital product has been downloaded, it can't be returned or refunded. The file is yours at that point and there's no way to take it back.
- Bought the wrong book by mistake? Don't download it. Email me with your receipt and I'll sort out a refund or swap it for the one you meant to buy.
- If a file is broken, corrupted, or the wrong book entirely, that rule doesn't apply — email me your receipt and a description of the problem and I'll fix it, replace it, or refund it. Please check your downloads soon after purchase so we catch problems inside the 30-day window.
- Trouble getting the book onto your device? That's a delivery question, not a defect — the fastest help is BookFunnel's excellent support team at bookfunnel.com/help. They can walk any device through it. If they can't solve it, come back to me and I'll take care of you.
Print books
My paperbacks are printed on demand — your copy doesn't exist until you order it, and it's printed just for you. Because of that, print orders can't be returned or refunded once they enter production.
The exceptions, because of course there are exceptions:
- Damaged, misprinted, or wrong book? Email me within 30 days with your receipt and a photo of the problem, and I'll get a corrected copy into the mail. Damaged or incorrect books are eligible for replacement, not refund.
- Need to fix an address or cancel right after ordering? Email me immediately. If your order hasn't entered production yet, I can usually catch it. Once it's printing, I can't pull it back.
EU & UK customers
If you're in the EU or UK, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal on physical goods, counted from delivery, provided the item is unused and in original condition; you cover return shipping. This right doesn't apply to digital products once delivery has begun with your consent (that's the checkout box), and print-on-demand books made to your order fall under the made-to-specification exemption — but email me anyway, and we'll work something out like reasonable people.
The fine print
- Original shipping charges are non-refundable.
- Discount codes apply at checkout only — I can't apply codes retroactively after an order is placed.
- Approved refunds go back to your original payment method, usually within a few business days; your bank may take longer to post it.
- If tracking shows your package as delivered but you don't have it, check with neighbors and your carrier first — then email me and we'll investigate together.
